Observed Field Status is a data field in the Field Check Subtable.
Observed Field Status is the state of the well when it was checked in the field. The values used for Observed Field Status in the PDMS are:
● | Oil |
well is completed for oil production |
● | Drilling |
a drilling rig is in place and operations do not appear to be completed |
● | Pipe Set |
pipe has been set in the hole |
● | Casing |
surface casing has been set in the hole |
● | Plugged | well has been plugged and abandoned. Conditions on the ground indicate that a well was drilled at the site. |
● | Staked |
the surveyor's stake was located in the field and appears to be in its intended original position. A knocked over stake does not qualify. |
● | Not Staked |
no sign of the well, the stake, or of drilling was observed |
● | Location |
a pad has been graded for the drilling rig, but the location stake is not planted on the site |
● | Gas |
well is completed for gas production |
● | Water Injection | well is completed for water injection |
● | Oil and Gas | well is completed for both oil and gas production |
● | Pumping | well is completed with a pump, exact purpose not evident

A multi-page report is envisioned to describe the history and significance of the IGS Field Check Program.
