The IGWS Learning Lab is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, with weekend and evening hours available for special events. Exhibits are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Browse the events webpage to see upcoming events and programs.

Admission is always free, donations are welcome.

Location

The IGWS is on the east end of the Geology Building at 1001 E. 10th St. The accessible entrance to the building is on the North Walnut Grove side of the building.

Transportation & Parking

We are near several Bloomington Transit and Campus Bus stops. Hourly street parking is available on the east and north sides of the building through the ParkMobile app. Hourly garage parking is available in the Forrest Avenue parking garage 1 block north of the building. The Forrest Avenue garage is free on the weekends.

Individuals with EM-P passes can park in the small lot directly behind the Geology Building, the Forrest Avenue parking garage, or the Fee Lane parking garage. EM-S passes can park in the small lot directly behind Informatics or the lot along the train tracks at Woodlawn and 11th Street.

Accessibility

  • Elevator- Our passenger elevator goes to all levels of the building.
  • Restrooms- Restrooms are stroller and wheelchair accessible. Double-stall restrooms are available on all floors.
  • Service Animals- Service animals specially trained to assist a person with a disability are welcome in all Survey facilities.
  • Large Print Labels- Large print labels are available for visitors with low vision at the Learning Lab desk.
