The Permit Date is usually the date that a well permit was reported to the IGS by the Division of Oil and Gas (DOG). This date may differ by a few days from the official date shown on the permit.
Caution. The official Permit Date has not been systematically entered into the PDMS for wells drilled prior to 2001. For many Well Events, no specific date is known or is applicable. In such cases, no Permit Date is assigned in the PDMS and the data field is left blank.
