The availability of reported volumes of petroleum production in Indiana is limited and variable. Annually-reported field-wide oil production values are known for most oil fields since 1953. But oil production by lease is only available from proprietary commercial production reports (IHS, Inc.). Oil production from individual wells is not publicly available. There are no commercial reports for natural gas production. Each month, the Indiana Division of Oil and Gas reports a single volume of produced oil and a single volume of produced gas representing production for the entire state.
